Each vehicle is rated with the following scores. For every score, a higher value is better.
Energy Score
How much range the car delivers for each kWh of usable battery — in other words how good is the car at using the energy poured in the battery. A measure of raw electrical efficiency.
Formula: range (WLTP) ÷ net battery capacity
Mass Score
How much range the car delivers for each kilogram of material used to build the car (the curb weight) — lighter, longer-range cars score higher, a sign of good engineering design.
Formula: range (WLTP) ÷ weight
Range Value Score
How much range you get for your money — the range delivered per unit of base price.
Formula: range (WLTP) ÷ price
15-min charge gain
How many kilometres of real-world range the car regains after a 15-minute DC fast charge from 10% battery, then cruising at 100 km/h. A much more useful indicator than the manufacturer 10-80% charging time. Charging fast is of no use if the vehicle is a hog.

Storage Min Score
How much cargo you can carry with all seats up, how far you can drive it, and how efficiently — rewards cars with generous minimum boot/trunk space (seats up) and long range, while favouring lighter cars — higher is better.
Formula: minimum storage × range (WLTP) ÷ weight
Storage Max Score
How much cargo you can carry seats down, how far you can drive it, and how efficiently — rewards cars with generous maximum boot/trunk space (seats folded) and long range, while favouring lighter cars — higher is better.
Formula: maximum storage × range (WLTP) ÷ weight
Overall Score
The average of the scores above.
The leaf icon marks the scores that have a direct impact on the car's carbon footprint — the Energy Score (electrical efficiency) and the Mass Score (how much material goes into building the car). Better values on these scores mean a lower environmental footprint.
On the radar chart, each axis is normalized to 0-100 relative to the highest value of that score across the entire vehicle database, so the shapes are comparable both between the selected cars and against the whole fleet. The overall Score shown under each car is that car's Overall Score (see above) — the simple average of its normalized axes.
